Samantha Humphrey was a 14-year-old girl who went missing on November 25, 2022, according to a Facebook post from the Schenectady Police Department.

Along the Mohawk River’s banks, the body of Samantha Humphrey was reportedly discovered by the New York Police Department on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. The body was found by someone fishing near Mohawk, according to Police Chief Eric Clifford.

A State Police airboat eventually arrived at the scene and removed Samantha’s body at 4 p.m. The body was subjected to an autopsy on Thursday, as reported by the Albany-based NBC affiliate WNYT.

Samantha Humphrey was seen in Riverfront Park near the Mohawk River in a brief surveillance camera footage that was taken just before midnight on November 25, the day after Thanksgiving the previous year.

Samantha Humphrey went to Riverfront Park in Schenectady, New York, with her ex-boyfriend on November 25 at around 11 p.m. However, she was never seen alive again.

Samantha Humphrey’s family has confirmed that her body was discovered in the Mohawk River. However, the cause of Samantha Humphrey’s death is still unknown.

The police are awaiting the results of the autopsy, which are expected on Monday. Police Chief Clifford refused to link the body to the Humphrey case, explaining that the body had been in the river for a while;
